About

Welcome to my travel blog, The Suitcase Backpacker, where I share my experiences and photographs of my travels around this diverse and beautiful planet.

I’m a nomad by heart and love visiting new places, embracing different cultures, and ultimately enjoying the spontaneity that travel brings (well…sometimes!)

To find out more about how the name of my blog came to be, give this post a read.

My love for writing initially began with poetry, where my poems often incorporate personal experiences and curious reflections. I’m endlessly fascinated by the natural environment, psychology, astronomy, mythology…the list goes on.

I’m forever grateful to have had my poetry published by Womankind Magazine (2020), Heroica (2023), and Poets for Science (2026).

I’m British by nationality and Italian by ethnicity, with familial ties to Southern Italy and the Mediterranean. Being of dual-nationality has led me to almost straddle the periphery of two completely different cultures. For much of my teenage years and early-late 20s, I struggled to really belong within either one for various reasons.  Travel has indefinitely illuminated and recalibrated my inner compass, and these experiences, alongside the special people I have met, help me to continuously rediscover the many parts of who I am.

Thanks so much for reading x
